MERRY MIXING - DIY RECIPE'S FOR FESTIVE DRINKS
18 December 2016
As the last week before Christmas is approaching - the question that raises itself and stands probably unanswerable: How many Gluehwein have you had? As much as I look forward to the spicy sweet hot beverage available readily anywhere before its season - as much I have had enough of it by now. Time for a Change! With the Christmas festivities and family times coming up I've tried out some recipe's for switching up your cheers. Super easy to make - requiring just few ingredients and no preparation time. Your guests and family will surely be wowed by a change of things. Included I've got a virgin one, a strong one (X-Mas Surprise), a coffee based one (because come on - we all love coffee based drinks) and a hot one too of course.
BITTER CINNAMON APPLE (virgin)
5 cl Applepuree (I used one I bought at AlNatura)
1 Fl Crodino
10 cl Soda
& a dash of ground Cinnamon
Preparation: Mix the Applepuree with the soda in a glass, add ice and fill up with Crodino - dabble some cinnamon powder over it & serve.
X-MAS SURPRISE (hot or cold)
3cl Rum Appleton
3cl Cynar X-Mas Infusion*
Preparation: Serve in Tumbler with lots of ice or an iceball - I actually used silikon forms to make an ice star to give the drink a twist lookswise.
WILD THING (for Coffee Addicts)
2cl Wild Turkey 81 2cl Zucker Sirup
Preparation: Serve in a balloon glass or champagne flute and fill up with coffee & some half whipped cream.
SNOWPATROL (hotter than Glühwein)
4cl Aperol or Campari
1cl Zucker Sirup
2 Dash Angostura Bitter
Preparation: Serve in teamug or goblet - fill up with hot water and mix - decorate. Instead of Aperol you may also use Campari (as seen on my picture & which I preferred) as decoration I used my favourite decorative starfruit.
So I hope I could give you some nice inspirations for wintertime & festive drinks - easy to make but unique. I know this week you all will be crazy busy doing all your food shopping for the holidays - so I wish you good luck with that and a happy last couples of days before the holidays.
